Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday with a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ record attempt at Great Wolf Lodge.
Be part of the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ family!

We are inviting you and your family to join The Wolf Pack at Great Wolf Lodge on Saturday July 1st at 2pm in our back parking lot located beside our Wacky Wilderness Mini Golf course as we attempt to break the existing GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title by sustaining a group wolf howl for 1 minute.

The first 150 Wolf Howlers will receive Great Wolf Lodge signature Wolf Ears.  All participants will be issued a participant bib number and all participant bib numbers are entered in a drawing to win a getaway to Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls.  Winner must be present at time of draw.

At 2:00pm, the Master of Ceremonies will lead a countdown.  Assigned stewards will supervise groupings of 50 people to ensure full participation and will monitor any participants who need to be deducted from the final total.  Greater than 294 people must be present and accounted for to confirm a successful GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title.

We hope that you and your family will join us for this amazing event at Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday.  Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at 905-354-4888 or nfguestservices.com

Spring-a-Palooza is Great Wolf Lodge’s celebration of everything spring, and the Grand Lobby at the resort is Spring-a-Palooza central.  Here guests will find colorful spring decorations throughout, including a special Great Wolf Lodge character-themed garden for children to explore.

For guests who have visited during Spring-a-Palooza in the past, this year’s event is an entirely new experience.  Special spring-inspired activities and events will take place daily starting March 10 and running through April 16, 2017.   Here’s a look at what’s new in 2017:

  • Spring Picnic:  A time-honored spring tradition gets a Great Wolf twist, as guests can grab a blanket, spread it out on the floor and enjoy an afternoon picnic in the Grand Lobby.  Guests can sip complimentary Minute Maid beverages available from the Great Wolf Lodge character-themed Lemonade Stand and play a few rounds of “Take A Wiley Guess” card game.

  • “I Spy Spring” Scavenger Hunt:  Geared toward younger wolf pups, this self-guided scavenger hunt will have guests looking high and low in the Grand Lobby to find a dozen hidden objects and claim a prize.

  • “Spring Sprint” Scavenger Hunt: Meant for wolves who want a bit more of a challenge, Spring Sprint has guests solving clues that will take them on a journey throughout the lodge.  When all 10 clues are solved, guests are rewarded with a prize.

  • Character Themed Flower Gardens:  A highlight of the Spring-a-Palooza celebration is the colorful springtime gardens found in the Grand Lobby.  The gardens are designed and hand-crafted by Pack Members from the resort.  Surrounded by a fence, the collection of flower pots are inspired by the Great Wolf Lodge characters.  Guests are encourage to stroll around the garden and vote for their favorite display.

Don’t worry, we kept a few of the guest-favorite classic activities, too:

  • Bubble Dance Party:  This special Spring-a-Palooza event fills the Grand Lobby with cascading bubbles while Great Wolf Lodge’s Ambassadors of Fun keep energy-levels high with a family-friendly dance party.

  • Spring Themed Crafts:  During Spring-a-Palooza, the resort’s Ambassadors of Fun will host several spring-inspired craft making events for kids of all ages.  Character-themed crafting projects include Oliver’s Crazy About Bugs Jar, Violet’s Springtime Noodle Doodle, Brinley’s Don’t Blow Away Kite and Wiley’s Can You Spot It Binoculars.

  • Spring-a-Palooza Story Time:  Great Wolf Lodge’s nightly Story Time takes on a spring theme with a new tale featuring the Great Wolf Lodge characters called “Natural Wonders.”  Kids are encouraged to wear their favorite jammies to the Grand Lobby for this event and will have the opportunity to meet one of the Great Wolf Lodge characters in person.

  • Jelly Bean Guessing Game:  A gigantic jar filled to the brim with jelly bean candies sits in the Grand Lobby and guests are invited to enter a contest guessing how many delicious treats are within the jar.  The guests closest to the correct number without going over will be entered for a chance to win a Great Wolf Lodge Gift Card.

Similarly to how entry into the indoor water park is included with an overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge, all of the Spring-a-Palooza events are also complimentary to guests staying at the resort.

November is a great time of year to reflect on our lives and think about all of the people we’re thankful for. So often our gratitude towards others is immeasurable and difficult to put into words. Here at Great Wolf Lodge, we thought we’d help out with that!

We created a series of e-cards to give you a little something to share with your own wolf pack. These e-cards are the perfect way to show appreciation—we like to call that #WolfProps—and a laugh, or a not-so-subtle hint about a Great Wolf Lodge howliday getaway. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, take a look and share some #WolfProps with your pack!

Why just say “thank you” when you can use festive food puns?

Everyone loves a nice compliment - and pie.

Vacation Announcement:

Kick your surprise getaway up a notch with these festive notes.

They are also a great way to share a hint about your howliday wish list.

You can spread thanks to your wolf pack this Thanksgiving, too, by joining in on our #WolfProps fun in the following ways:

  • Tag your family and friends who you are thankful for when we post these #WolfProps on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels
  • Share these images with your social media channels – just don’t forget to use the hashtags #WolfProps and #GreatWolfLodge!
  • Print them out via this PDF and give them to your pack around the Thanksgiving table

The first time I walked into a Great Wolf Lodge, I immediately felt like I had been transported to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The tranquility and warmth of the antler chandeliers, log cabin-style furniture and cozy hearth were extremely familiar to me. As a native Wisconsinite, I remember traveling north to a family cabin surrounded by towering red and white pines. Those vacations still bring me great joy when I think about the rustic cabin itself, the wildlife we saw and the adventure my family and I shared. Stepping into Great Wolf Lodge evokes the same emotions time and time again.

As someone who has traveled “Up Nort’” (as we Wisconsinites call it) a great deal, I can say for certain that Great Wolf Lodge brings the feeling of being surrounded by wilderness to life. There’s no mistaking each lodge is inspired by its roots. No matter which region of the United States you visit, Great Wolf Lodge presents the opportunity to experience a rustic, cabin-style retreat to families across the country.

How do we make this happen? The detailed theme and design all work together to create the fully immersive Northwoods experience, down to the tiniest detail.

Here are a few of my favorite elements to look for when you visit Great Wolf Lodge:

Antler Chandeliers: Each Great Wolf Lodge has a number of antler chandeliers hanging from the log rafters in the Grand Lobby, illuminating the lobby from above.

Fireplace: The fireplace is the focal point of the Grand Lobby. As you step into the lodge, you will likely see families relaxing by the hearth, snuggled together before Story Time or resting together between activities.

Themed Carpet: Even the carpet highlights the wildlife found in the woods. We’ve seen guests playing hopscotch by only touching the squares with animals on them. It may take a little longer to get to and fro, but the laughter and memories made along the way will be worth the while.

Log Cabin-Style Furniture: Settle in each night in a bed made from logs, or relax by the fireplace in an oversize, comfy wooden chair. All of the furniture at Great Wolf Lodge is hand-made in Wisconsin. It truly sets the tone in helping us create a “home away from home” for our guests.

Sconces: If you get turned around during your visit to Great Wolf Lodge, the wall sconces can help you find your way back to the Grand Lobby – the animals will always point you in the right direction.

Trick-or-treating is, without a doubt, a favorite childhood tradition. Every year, kids dress up and transform into wizards, mummies and princesses. With excitement levels through the roof, they then run out and go door to door showing neighbors their fun new personas in exchange for sweet treats.

These are memories they’ll never forget. What’s often overlooked, is behind every little princess, wizard, and mummy (and really messy face paint and hair coloring) is a parent who spends countless hours and dollars creating a memorable trick-or-treating experience for their child. We have to wonder, do parents want a piece of the fun too? We’re pretty certain they do.

At Great Wolf Lodge, we believe there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy – and this Howl-O-Ween is no exception. Throughout the entire month of October, boys and girls dress up in their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat throughout the resort. Tomorrow, October 21, parents can feel the love, too, and enjoy the trick-or-treat fun. When parents visit the Howl-O-Ween house to kick off the trick-or-treat trail with their costumed little ones they can pick up a special treat for National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day.

In honor of this delicious day, our talented culinary teams developed their own special recipe and are offering mini pumpkin cheesecakes on the trick-or-treat trail. Mom and Dad will especially enjoy this stop created just for them!

Don’t forget to show your friends the sweet fun using #GWLHowloween. Can’t make it to Great Wolf Lodge tomorrow? Here’s the recipe to celebrate at home:

No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake

Servings:  10 (9oz Servings)

·         1 ½ Graham crackers (break into crumbs)

·          ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

·         1 tablespoon sugar

·         2 tablespoons brown sugar

·         1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

·         1 8-ounce package cream cheese (softened to room temperature)

·         1 15-ounce can pumpkin pie filling

·         1- 3oz package sugar free cheesecake-flavored instant pudding mix (or vanilla may be substituted as well)

·         1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

·         1 12-ounce container frozen whipped topping

1.        Blend cracker crumbs with melted butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla, mix until well combined.

2.        Spoon the crumbs into individual 9-ounce glass cups (if you prefer, plastic cups work as well).  Refrigerate crust to set while making filling.

3.        In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese until light and creamy.

4.        Add the pumpkin pie filling and pudding mix and beat until completely mixed, scraping down the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure that all ingredients are well combined.

5.        Add the sweetened condensed milk and continue mixing until well combined.

6.        Change your stand mixer attachment to the wire whisk. On slow speed, fold in the tub of whipped topping until well combined.

7.        Allow the mixture to sit under refrigeration for about an hour to set.

8.        Using a large pastry bag with a large tip, or a spoon, top the graham cracker crust in each cup with the pumpkin mixture and refrigerate until ready to serve.

9.        Garnish with additional whipped topping if desired.

Whip Topping (of your choosing)

Halloween is just a little over two weeks away already and if you’re anything like me, you’re wondering where the month has gone and how you’re going to get Halloween costumes made in time for the holiday. Coming up with a clever, yet affordable Halloween costume for your wolf pup that will rival those of their peers at the school Halloween parade can be a real challenge. Store bought costumes are expensive, and not everyone is a Pinterest DIY expert.

We’ve come up with an easy DIY project that won’t break the budget, but will make your wolf pup’s costume the talk of the school. In just a matter of an hour or two, they will be transformed into their favorite Great Wolf Kids character - no expert crafting skills needed. Here’s how:

Gather Your Tools:

  • 2 scanes of 100% acrylic yarn. These can be found at any craft store or major department store. We used a thicker yarn for a fluffier look.
  • Scissors
  • Hair straightener (an iron works just as well if you don’t have a hair straightener).
  • Hair brush

Make the Base:

Measure 9 strands of yarn about three inches longer than the desired length of the tail. Tie a knot in the end, but leave a loop instead of pulling all the way through. You will use this later to fasten your tail to clothing. Now section the strands of yarn in to 3 groups of 3 and braid, stopping 4 inches before the end. Tie a knot. Do not cut off the excess. You will use this as the tip of the tail.

Start Your Tail

Take your hair brush and gently brush apart the fibers of yarn left out of the braid in the previous step. There will be a lot of fiber left in the brush. Remove as needed. Once the fibers are brushed free (it will look like hair), take the hair straightener and run it through the fibers. They will look matted. Run the brush through the fibers again and the tip of your tail is complete!

Add More Fur

Measure and cut 10 pieces of yarn about eight inches long, and then measure a single piece about five inches long. Tie the 5 inch piece around the middle of the group of 10.

Repeat step 4 for each side of the group of 10, leaving out the strands from the 5 inch piece tied around the middle. Use these two shorter ends of the 5 inch piece to fasten the fur to the base just above the last section of fur completed. Repeat this step, working your way up the base until the tail is completely full of fur. Fasten to a belt loop with a piece of yarn and your tail is complete!

Show It Off!

Add Wiley or Violet’s outfit and Great Wolf Lodge wolf ears and your wolf pup’s look is complete! Don’t forget to show us your pawsitively perfect Great Wolf Kids costumes on social media using #GWLHowloween.

The days are slowly getting shorter, temperatures are starting to dip, and kids are heading back to school. One of the age-old first assignments for back to school is to tell classmates about summer adventures. We’ve made this assignment a breeze this year.

Kids can use this show and tell book to show how Great Wolf Lodge made their summer. Whether they decide to attach photos from their trip or take a more interpretive approach and doodle, a trip to Great Wolf Lodge is sure to be the talk of the class.

And, if for some reason the teacher doesn’t ask the question, “What did you do this summer?” the book can still serve as a scrapbook of memories from an awesome summer vacation.

With summer road trip season in full swing, we created a DIY project sure to make your pups howl about summer travel. The Great Wolf Kids luggage tag is a simple, yet, creativity-inspiring craft that will also help focus all of their pre-trip excitement! It's a great way to announce an upcoming trip as a fun surprise, too.

Have your kids pick their favorite Great Wolf Kids character, customize the look, and attach it to their bag. That's it! Now they're ready for a fun-filled adventure at Great Wolf Lodge! They may even meet their friend in real life at Great Wolf Kids events like Story Time or Wolf Walk.

The PDF template, which can be found here, features each of our Great Wolf Kids characters.

Step 1: Gather your supplies. You’ll need a few different items you probably already have around the house.

  • Paper to print the template (we recommend heavy stock paper for durability)
  • Adhesive (we used glue sticks and glue)
  • Colored pencils, crayons or markers
  • Single hole punch
  • Ribbon, yarn, or string

Step 2: Color your luggage tag. Get creative, or stick to your character’s signature look. The choice is yours! If you’re wondering what Wiley, Violet, Oliver, Rachel, Sammie, or Brinley look like, you can find out here.

Step 3: Cut out all three pieces of your luggage tag.

Tip: follow the dotted lines rather than the solid ones for an easier cutting path.

Step 4: Using the adhesive of your choice, attach the name badge and character to the base circle in the location of your choice.

Tip: Attach the name badge to either the bottom, or the back of the tag. This allows for plenty of room for your Great Wolf Kids friend.

Tip: For added durability, consider laminating the tag with a laminator or packing tape.

Step 5: Locate the small dotted line circle on the base of the tag. Use your single hole punch to punch a hole over the dotted line.

Step 6: Cut a six inch piece of ribbon, yarn or string. Thread one end of the ribbon through the hole made in step 5. You should now have about one half of the ribbon on either side of the tag.

Step 7: Thread one side of the ribbon through the handle of the luggage. Tie a knot in the ribbon, fastening the tag to the luggage.

Step 8: Sport your new luggage tag on your next trip to Great Wolf Lodge, or wear it on your backpack!

Summer is a time of adventure. Every year, parents across the U.S. pack up their cars. They cram the kids, games, snacks, the dog, and anything else they can fit, into the family car to take trips across the country; sightseeing and experiencing adventure along the way. Some families travel to state and national parks, while others are thrill seekers – chasing theme and water parks across the country.

What all of these families have in common are the memories they make together along the way. We see these memories every day. Families take pictures of their adventures at Great Wolf Lodge and share them with us on social media. We enjoy seeing their photos of journeys soaring down Mountain Edge Raceway, getting soaked by the Tipping Bucket, wielding wands on their quests to become Master Magi’s, and enjoying family time along the way. These memories are kept forever, whether they are storied in photo albums and smart phones or in their hearts.

Family memories made during summer trips are special, and we believe they should be cherished. That’s why this summer we’re challenging you to document the family fun. We want you to take pictures of all the fun things your family does together; whether at Great Wolf Lodge or elsewhere, we want to see how you spend your summer, and give you the chance to spend part of it with us.

Take pictures of it all. Document the fun times, because having pictorial reminders of the adventures will provide a lifetime of reminders as to why the summer of 2015 was the best summer yet. Then, choose your best photo and post it to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter using #GWLMakeMySummer for the chance to win a two-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge of your choice (U.S. properties only).

We’re excited to see all of the fun times had, and we thank you in advance for sharing your family adventures with us. Have a blast this summer! We hope to see you at the lodge soon.

Father’s Day is fast approaching; the day to celebrate dads and everything they do. From changing diapers and fixing “boo boo’s” to checking tire pressure and babysitting grandchildren, dads show their love in many ways. Their support is invaluable. So, why limit Father’s Day to a one-day celebration? Let’s celebrate dads this summer by showing them how much they’re appreciated with quality time.

Sure, gifts that can be unwrapped will be a physical reminder of the love shared, but there’s nothing more special than memories made and time spent. Let’s create memories wearing wolf ears and laughing while getting absolutely soaked by the tipping bucket. Let’s conquer dragons together on a quest to become Master Magi’s. Let’s take photos that will last a lifetime.

The Summer Bucket List is meant to help you show dad just how much he means to you with every item. Print out this PDF and bring it along on your next Great Wolf Lodge adventure with dad. Try to check everything off the list and make sure to talk, ask each other questions, and most importantly, laugh. You’re sure to make lasting memories, and maybe even learn a little something new about each other along the way.

Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of summer activities. Families across America will pack up their cars and take the first trips of the season. Some trips will be annual traditions and others are to new destinations and experiences.

While many families equate summer travel with camping, families who prefer hotels have avoided the activity. However, the new trend of glamping, or “glamorous camping,” has been adopted by many hospitality brands as a way to bring the experience of the great outdoors, indoors.

At Great Wolf Lodge, glamping is not new at all. In fact, we are the leaders of the hotel pack! We like to think we started the trend in 1997, long before the name glamping was created.

Families visiting Great Wolf Lodge resorts have made memories glamping in our KidKabins, KidKamps, and Wolf Dens. Millions of children have slumbered in themed suites, dreaming of the adventures they took while playing in the waterpark and dueling MagiQuest dragons. They made one of a kind memories together while glamping “fort-style” in their suite.

As the summer travel season begins, we want to see how your kids glamp at home. We know that your children love to build forts by gathering every available blanket, pillow, flashlight, and even the family pet to build unique structures and tents, often right in your living room. Now – we want to see them!

Beginning May 23 through June 6, we invite your family to show us your best household fort. It can be indoors or outdoors and it should celebrate your children’s wildest fort-building dreams. Grab all the blankets and pillows you can find and spend quality time together with your family as you build your fort and glamp in your home. Share a photo with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #GWLFort2Win and your family could win a one-night stay at the U.S-based Great Wolf Lodge resort of your choice. Let us help you glamp, Great Wolf-style.

We’re excited to see your children’s ideas come to life. And who knows, your family could be our lucky winner for the chance to start a new summer travel tradition, with our pack at Great Wolf Lodge.

The contest:

Between May 23 and June 6, 2015, post a photo of your best homemade fort to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #GWLFort2Win. After the contest concludes, a panel of judges will choose one winning family to receive a complimentary one-night stay at any of our U.S. locations. Please see official rules for details.

There’s no doubt that the classic grilled cheese sandwich is a favorite amongst most families. With a warm, gooey center and perfectly golden buttered bread, there’s simply nothing not to like about a simple grilled cheese. In order to properly honor this delectable delight this Sunday for National Grilled Cheese Day, we’re sharing our Grilled Cheese Shooters recipe.

The Grilled Cheese Shooters’ appetizer-sized portion makes it perfect for sharing with the whole family. With warm, crisp, buttered bread filled with melty cheese and the perfect amount of tomato soup for dipping, we’re sure it will give you something to howl about.

Great Wolf Grilled Cheese Shooters

You’ll need:

  • 2 slices of white bread, crust cut off to square the slices
  • Butter, melted and warm
  • 2 slices of American cheese
  • 4 oz. Campbell's Healthy Choice Tomato Soup (hot)

  1. Evenly butter both slices of white bread with butter and place on a flat top grill, butter side down.
  2. Place 1 slice of American cheese on each slice of bread for 1 minute, or until evenly browned and the cheese is melted.
  3. Remove bread from flat top grill and place slices together, cheese side together.
  4. Cut finished sandwich from upper left corner to lower right and then cut the opposite way upper right to lower left, creating 4 perfectly shaped triangles.
  5. Using the hot tomato soup, fill 4 shot glasses about ¾ of the way.
  6. Place 1 sandwich triangle on top of each to the shot glasses. The flat side of the triangle should be up, with the tip of the triangle just touching the soup.
  7. Place each on a rectangular plate in a straight line. Serve immediately.
