Have you ever wondered what goes into creating the Great Wolf Lodge experience? How do we make it snow during Snowland? What new family fun is being added to the lodges each year? Just where does all that water go?
Enter Behind the Howl—the official blog of Great Wolf Lodge.
This is where we give you a behind-the-howl look at all things Great Wolf. Our Communications and Marketing teams, Kid’s Experience team and others will help tell the story of Great Wolf—from the eyes of a pack member.
Check back often, share with your friends and family and give us feedback by leaving comments. Let us know what you like. Let us know what you want to know. And what we can do as we continue to grow.
We also want to hear your personal stories—your favorite Great Wolf Lodge memory, a story about your favorite slide, what it was like to meet Wiley for the first time. We know you’ve got a great story, and we want to hear it.
We are excited to share our stories with you and look forward to hearing yours!

We had a family suite, which was great for a family of five. Our only problem, which wasn't really a problem per se, was that the kids and eventually I came to believe our room was, well...a little...haunted. I know it seems silly, but we just got the feeling from time to time that we had company, and not in a bad way. My husband even woke up in the middle of the night feeling like he had been nipped in the hand. We told him he got bit by the spirit of the Great Wolf!! The kids started the morning with more MagiQuest, breakfast at the buffet (the server was superior and gave the kids wolf ears to wear) and then off to the water park until lunch. Lunch was probably the weakest of the offerings at the restaurant for the price, but they enjoyed it. After that it was more MagiQuest (did I mention they loved it???) and then home with much protest. Check out was express.
Final thoughts: the biggest gripes I've read are with pricing. It can be spendy, but I believe there are enough disounts available between GWL promotions and coupons through Kidstuff books, etc. to make it worth it. The MagiQuest is pricy, but for the amount of play the kids got from it and the amount of fun everyone seemed to be having, I felt it was worth it. To cut down cost, USE the fridge/microwave in the rooms! Bring snacks, drinks, breakfast foods....you don't have to eat at the restaurant. Take advantage of the lower cost meal coupons and the Paw Pass when you book. I wish I had known to do that before our first trip. My kids are 12, 10 and 8 and they felt there was a good array of activities that weren't too little kid. The arcade was a little weak to them but fine for a little break. We didn't get to go to the bowling alley or spas.....we have something to look forward to next time. The were asking when they could come back before we even left. It's not question...we'll be back.
