My wife and my son love the Great Wolf Lodge so much that we have been there three times already. Being afraid of the water due to my inability to swim, I didn't enjoy my previous stays to the max.
However, it all changed this time when we visited the lodge earlier this month. My son asked me to get into several sections of the waterpark. Playing basketball and floating around in tubes finally made me relax enough that I bought a waterproof camera from the lodge's shop and when the roll was developed, this photograph of my aqua boy made me happy. As a family, we always have a good time at the Great Wolf Lodge and this photograph is a witness to that.

More Wolves, Please
I recently took a walk on the wolfie side, checking out all the fun souvenirs in the Buckhorn Exchange gift shop at Great Wolf Lodge – Williamsburg, VA. Guess what I found? Wolves, wolves and more wolves—check 'em out!
Wolves that love to snuggle…
Wolves that hold hands with buddies…

Wolves to frame your face…

Wolves to sip your sippy drinks with…
Wolves to howl at the moon with you…
Wolves to adorn your mantle…

Wolves to ward off intruders…

Wolves to hold all your other wolves…
What’s your favorite wolfie souvenir?
The Perfect Vacation
My family and I have such a wonderful time at Great Wolf Lodge every time we go. Our children love the lodge so much that my oldest daughter, Halie, picked Great Wolf as her school project.
Herproject read: I've dedicated my project to Great Wolf Lodge because I love going there. Also the employees work so hard to meet your every need. Another reason is you can go anytime of the year because it's indoors. There are cool rides like the Hydro Plunge and the Double Barrel Drop. It also has an ice cream shop, bowling, kids spa and arcade. Every time my family goes, we have such a wonderful time, great memories and we can't wait to go back. That is why I dedicated my project to Great Wolf Lodge.
My wife and I wanted to say thank you to all of the management and staff for being so helpful and making us feel right at home. We definately recommend Great Wolf Lodge to everyone, you will have the time of your life.

Character Trading Cards - Super Fun and Totally Free
While it’s beginning to get a bit blustery outside, it’s cozier than ever inside Great Wolf Lodge. Millions of twinkling lights are on their way into the Grand Lobby, holiday trees are going up and up and up, the fire is roaring, and Wiley and Violet are matching up their mittens for a great season. AND GUESS WHAT ELSE? New character trading cards are on the way! Ahh! I LOVE these things! (I mean, just LOOK at how many I’ve collected!)

Wiley the Wolf and Brinley Bear both have new collectibles in our “Winter Edition” character trading cards. With fun facts on the back and cool new images on the front, they provide oh-so-many fun ways to play.
But WHAT do you DO with character trading cards, you ask? Well, let me TELL you.
- Collect them. Character trading cards on not sold in gift shops. You can ONLY get them from a character at Great Wolf Lodge. And meeting characters is super fun all by itself. Give a high paw, take a pic, and collect a card.
- Stare at them. Maybe I’m just obsessed, but these are the cutest little fellers I have ever seen. Love to review the cards with the kids on the couch after Story Time (a nightly occurrence in my house) and point out their eyes and ears and mouth and nose…head, shoulders, knees and toes.
- Learn with them. Fun to play learning games with your preschool kids, nephews, granddaughters when you add color identification, pattern making or card matching to the mix.
- Engage with your kids. My favorite. Each character trading card offers a short stack of fun facts on the back side, like the characters' favorite colors, activities, foods and seasons. Enjoy reviewing these with the kids, asking what their fun facts are. When is their birthday? My husband also enjoys making up stories about the characters at bedtime. The kids each get to choose a character and a few other fun facts and Mr. J goes to work making up all sorts of fun stories about these friends—from “Wiley’s first haircut” to "how Violet and Rachel used their manners at the dinner table”. Super fun.
Do get your hands on these fun new—and might I mention FREE—collectible cards next time you’re in the Northwoods. And when you see him, give Wiley a high-paw for me!

Great for all Ages
Every summer my parents (65 & 66 years old), 6-year old niece and 11-year old nephew and I (39 years old) take a vacation together. This year the kids picked Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas after seeing commercials on one of the New Orleans TV Stations.
Our vacation was awesome. We checked in to the Great Wolf Lodge at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, went to the indoor waterpartk and played til 8:30. We order food from the snack shop, which we thought was resonably priced, ate then we went straight to our room for the night. The kids were so tired that they did not even want to play video games or participate in the MagicQuest game.
The next morning we got up to go eat with Wiley and Violet at Camp Critter Bar & Grille, but were told we had to make reservations, so we made them for 9 and hung out in the lobby for an hour. We couldn't pass up the chance to eat with Wiley and Violet. After eating with the characters, which was well worth the money, we headed to our room, the KidCabin, packed up and at about 10:30 checked out of our room, put our luggage in the truck and enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor waterparks.
At about 2 pm both kids were ready to shower, dress and hit the road to explore the Grapevine Area. We had a blast! The only thing we think can be inproved upon is the room lighting and when you check in the front desk should tell you that you need to make restervations for the Camp Critter Breakfast. Other than that we can't wait to come back hopefuly next year!

Tips for Traveling with your Pups

Family vacations are fun, but traveling with little ones can be stressful. As a new mom, I still struggle to remember everything we need each time we step out the door.
Having a baby does not mean that vacations are over, but it does mean you need to plan a little more. Great Wolf Lodge specializes in vacations for families with young children. Here are a few of my tips for making your Great Wolf Lodge visit a success.
Play with your visit dates
There are 365 days in a year and only 104 are weekend days. Plan your Great Wolf Lodge stay during an off-peak time of year when the water parks are not as busy. Surprise your family with a mid-week getaway, or start your stay on a Sunday.
Do your research
There is so much to see and do! Visit Greatwolf.com before your trip. Water park attractions are listed by age, so you can plan what is appropriate for everyone in your family before you arrive. Utilize the Great Wolf “Ask A Mom” panel and visit the Great Wolf Facebook page each Monday to see questions from moms like you.
Bring Baby’s food
Every room at Great Wolf Lodge comes with a refrigerator and a microwave, free of charge. This makes it easy to store formula and baby food, as well as re-heat meals. Purchase a “Wolf it Down” Family Meal during your stay, which includes pizza, salad, soda and cookies. You can save whatever is not eaten right away for a midnight snack after the kids have gone to bed!
Don’t sweat the small stuff
Our water parks help make baby’s day easy. Water park rest rooms include baby changing tables and towels and life jackets are provided free of charge. In case you forget to pack them, swim diapers (and other amenities) are available for purchase in the Bear Essentials Swim Shop.
Take a break
With the water park down the hall from your room, you can keep your family’s naptime schedule. Pack ‘n Play beds can be borrowed on a first come, first serve basis from the front desk. Bring your child’s favorite blanket and put it in the Pack ‘n Play so it feels like home. While baby sleeps, stretch out on your comfortable bed and relax. Isn’t that what vacation is all about?
Bring pajamas
This may seem obvious, but I have two reasons. Each night Great Wolf Lodge invites all children to the lobby for Story Time. The resort’s youngest guests all arrive in their pajamas and nightgowns for the Clock Tower show and that night’s bedtime story. Who doesn’t love to see little ones in pj’s?
Need a second reason? On your last day, as you change from swimsuits before heading to the car, dress your children in their pajamas. This way, when they all asleep on the drive home, it’s easier to transition them to bed once you get home.
